Front is a dedicated shared inbox and customer operations platform for email, SMS, WhatsApp and other channels, with ticketing and AI add-ons. PromptLab is a CRM for B2B teams that sell products, with a shared inbox built in. So the choice is a separate inbox tool beside your CRM, or the inbox inside the CRM.

We make PromptLab, so every figure comes from Front's own pricing and product pages and PromptLab's pricing page, and we say where Front is stronger. Prices are per user a month, Front billed annually and PromptLab billed monthly, unless we say otherwise.

Pricing: $25 to $105 against $11.99 to $99

Front's Starter is $25 a seat a month and is limited to 10 seats. Professional is $65 and limited to 50 seats, and Enterprise is $105. Annual billing shows a 24% saving, and the 14-day free trial includes all Professional features with no credit card. There is no free plan.

PromptLab is $11.99 for Basic, $23.99 for Professional and $99 for Business, billed monthly, with a 14-day free trial on Basic and Professional. Front's price buys Front alone, and its Copilot AI is $20 a seat more on Starter and Professional; PromptLab's is the whole CRM, with the inbox on Basic. A team that also pays for a CRM pays for both.

Mailboxes, channels and conversations

Front works with Microsoft 365 (Outlook) and Gmail, and individual inboxes can sit beside shared ones. Starter supports a single channel type: email, Front Chat or SMS. Professional and Enterprise support several at once. Native WhatsApp is an add-on on Professional and Enterprise, billed at Meta's WhatsApp costs plus a 20% admin fee.

PromptLab's inbox connects Gmail, Outlook, Exchange and other IMAP mailboxes next to WhatsApp and Telegram, on Basic. SMS joins on Professional with a number. Every thread is linked to its contact and deal, so a rep sees the history before replying.

Assignment, comments and AI

Both let you assign a conversation to a teammate and discuss it inside the thread. Front lists shared inboxes, assignments, tags and internal comments with shared drafts. PromptLab has assignment and internal notes on a thread.

AI is where they part. Front's Copilot, which drafts replies, is $20 a seat a month on Starter and Professional and included in Enterprise. Its Autopilot AI agent starts at $0.05 a conversation. PromptLab has no AI reply drafts in the inbox.

Where Front is stronger

Front is a customer operations platform. Every plan lists a shared inbox and a ticketing system, its channels include Front Chat, and Professional adds several channel types at once, up to five workspaces, and SSO and SCIM. PromptLab has no help-desk features or live chat.

Front also integrates with HubSpot CRM and Salesforce on all three plans, and lists Pipedrive and Zoho CRM. If your inbox serves customers and support at volume, and your CRM is elsewhere, Front is the better fit.

An inbox on the deal

In PromptLab a thread is linked to its contact and deal, so there is nothing to sync between an inbox and a CRM. Meeting notes, quotes and sales orders sit on the same deal.

That suits a sales team that answers buyers one conversation at a time. It does not turn PromptLab into a support desk.

Which should you choose?

Choose Front if…

  • You run customer support or operations from a shared inbox, with ticketing.
  • You want AI reply drafts through Copilot, or an AI agent through Autopilot.
  • Your CRM is HubSpot or Salesforce and you want the inbox to connect to it.

Choose PromptLab if…

  • You want every email, WhatsApp and Telegram thread on the contact and deal it belongs to.
  • You want the inbox, quotes and orders in one CRM, priced per user.
  • You want to assign threads and talk them over in internal notes without a separate tool.
