Pricing: $9 to $29 against $11.99 to $99

Make's Core is $9 a month for 10,000 credits, Pro is $16 and Teams $29 at the same volume, and the Free plan has 1,000 credits and 2 active scenarios. Every plan has unlimited users. PromptLab has no free plan, a 14-day trial, and runs from Basic at $11.99 to Business at $99 a user a month.

Billed yearly on both sides, Core comes to $108 for the account and PromptLab Basic to $99 a user, so a single user pays a little less on PromptLab, and from two users ($198) Make costs less. Make meters credits: most actions use one, and when credits run out scenarios stop until you add more. PromptLab is priced per user, not per task, and its price covers the CRM as well.

Canvas against CRM events

Make's canvas lets you route data between modules with routers and filters, and a custom webhook accepts any data and starts a scenario at once. Paid plans can run a scenario every minute. Routers and error handlers use no credits.

PromptLab workflows start on CRM events: a new deal, a stage change, a quote status, a new contact, a task, a meeting, an inbound email or a WhatsApp or Telegram message. They also run on a schedule, by hand, or from an incoming webhook on Professional. Steps can branch, wait, loop and ask for approval.

Apps, AI and hosting

Make connects to 3,500+ apps out of the box, and custom apps are included on every plan. PromptLab's steps reach Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp, email and Google Sheets, and an HTTP endpoint from Professional at $23.99. That is far fewer apps.

Both have AI. Make includes AI Agents (in beta), the AI Toolkit and an MCP server on every plan. PromptLab runs AI on the record inside a step, and Claude and ChatGPT can connect to it over MCP on every plan. PromptLab can't be self-hosted; Make's on-prem agent, for reaching local networks, is an Enterprise feature.

Where Make is stronger

It is the better fit when the work spans many apps and you want to see the route. Make gives a visual canvas, 3,500+ apps and custom apps, from $9, with unlimited users on every plan.

It also does not depend on a CRM. PromptLab's workflows start from CRM events, a schedule, a manual run or, on Professional, an incoming webhook, so automations centred on other systems sit more naturally in Make.

Which should you choose?

Choose Make if…

  • You want to build flows on a visual canvas with routers and filters.
  • You connect many apps, 3,500+ of them, or build custom ones.
  • You want a low entry price, from $9 a month, with unlimited users.

Choose PromptLab if…

  • You want automations that start on deals, quotes, tasks and messages in your CRM.
  • You would rather pay per user than watch a credit count.
  • You want AI steps that read the CRM record, with no second tool to connect.

Frequently asked questions

Is PromptLab a Make alternative?

For automating CRM work, yes. For routing data between many outside apps on a canvas, no: PromptLab connects to far fewer apps than Make's 3,500+.

Is Make cheaper than PromptLab?

For a team, yes. Billed yearly, Make Core is $108 for the account with unlimited users, and PromptLab Basic is $99 a user, so two users already cost $198. Make is only the automation tool, and PromptLab includes the CRM.

Can PromptLab replace Make?

If your flows begin and end in the CRM, it can. If you move data between many other apps, keep Make.

Does Make have a free plan?

Yes. Free includes 1,000 credits a month and 2 active scenarios, and scenarios run at most every 15 minutes. PromptLab has no free plan, only a 14-day trial.

Do I need an automation tool if my CRM has workflows?

Often not for work inside the CRM. PromptLab's workflows start on deals, quotes, tasks and messages and act on them, on every plan from $11.99 a user a month. Keep a dedicated tool when you chain many outside apps.
