Deal Scout: AI deal risk and opportunity detection

Deal Scout flags stalling and at-risk deals in your pipeline automatically so your team can take action before opportunities go cold.

Deal Scout monitors every deal in your pipeline and surfaces the ones that need your attention — before they go cold. Instead of manually reviewing your entire pipeline each morning, you can rely on Deal Scout to flag deals that are stalling, identify high-priority opportunities, and prompt the right action at the right time.

Deal Scout is available on the Business plan ($108/month per user) and Enterprise plan. To upgrade, go to Settings > Billing > Plans.

What Deal Scout does

Deal Scout runs continuously in the background and analyzes each deal across three dimensions:

  • Conversation activity — the frequency and recency of emails, calls, and messages with the contact
  • Time since last contact — how long it has been since anyone on your team interacted with the deal
  • Deal stage velocity — how quickly the deal is moving through your pipeline compared to historical norms

When a deal falls below expected activity thresholds or stops progressing, Deal Scout flags it as at risk and surfaces it for review.

Where Deal Scout surfaces in PromptLab

Deal Scout output appears in two places:

  • Pipeline view — flagged deals display a risk indicator directly on the deal card so you can see at-risk opportunities at a glance while reviewing your pipeline
  • Dashboard alerts — your main dashboard shows a summary of deals flagged by Deal Scout, grouped by urgency

Example risk scenarios

Deal Scout flags a deal when it detects patterns like these:

  • A deal has had no activity in 14 or more days — Deal Scout marks it at risk and surfaces it in your dashboard
  • A deal has been in the same pipeline stage for significantly longer than similar deals typically take to advance
  • A high-value deal has an upcoming close date but no recent customer engagement on record

How to use Deal Scout

1

Confirm you are on the Business or Enterprise plan

Go to Settings > Billing and verify your current plan. Deal Scout activates automatically once you are on a qualifying plan — no additional setup is required.

2

Open your pipeline view

Navigate to Pipeline in the left sidebar. Deals flagged by Deal Scout display a risk indicator on their card. You can filter the pipeline view to show only flagged deals by selecting At risk in the filter bar.

3

Review the flagged deal

Click a flagged deal to open the deal detail view. Deal Scout surfaces the specific signal that triggered the flag — for example, "No activity in 18 days" or "Stage stalled for 3 weeks" — so you know exactly what to address.

4

Take the recommended action

Based on the signal, take action directly from the deal detail view: log a note, send a message, schedule a follow-up, or update the deal stage. Once activity is logged, Deal Scout re-evaluates the deal automatically.

Review your Deal Scout alerts at the start of each day. Catching a stalling deal early — before the contact goes fully cold — significantly improves your chances of keeping it on track.
