The short answer

DataboxPaid from $71/account

Choose it if you need dashboards that combine data from many apps, with 130+ tools to connect.

PromptLabIn the CRM from $11.99/seat

Choose it if you want your pipeline, deals, calls and meetings reported on without connecting a data source.

Databox is a dedicated dashboard and reporting tool that pulls numbers from many apps into one place, with an AI analyst built in. PromptLab is a CRM for B2B teams that sell products, with dashboards and a report builder built in. So the choice is a separate dashboard tool beside your CRM, or the dashboards inside the CRM.

Below, the two are compared on price, data sources, metrics, scheduled reports and sharing. We make PromptLab, so every figure comes from Databox's own pricing and product pages and PromptLab's pricing page, and we say where Databox is stronger. Pricing: $71 to $319 against $11.99 to $99

Databox is priced by plan size, not by seat. Analyst is $71 a month with 1 user and 5 data sources. Team is $199 a month for 3 users and 10 data sources, or $319 for 10 users and 30 data sources. Agency starts at $79 a month with unlimited users. There is a Free plan with 1 user and 3 data sources, and any paid plan has a 14-day trial.

PromptLab is priced per user: $11.99 for Basic, $23.99 for Professional and $99 for Business, billed monthly, with a 14-day free trial on Basic and Professional. The price buys the whole CRM, with dashboards and reports included from Basic. A team that also pays for a CRM pays for both tools.

Data sources: many apps against one CRM

This is the core difference. Databox connects to 130+ tools, plus databases, spreadsheets and APIs, so one dashboard can combine numbers from several apps. The Free plan allows 3 data sources, Analyst 5, and Team 10 or 30.

PromptLab's dashboards read only the CRM: deals, contacts, accounts, calls, meetings and custom objects. There is nothing to connect, because the data is already there. A dashboard that joins ad spend, finance and support data needs a dedicated tool like Databox.

Metrics, reports and sharing

Databox includes custom metrics (10 on the Free plan) and an AI analyst called Genie on every plan. A dashboard can be shared through one link that shows live data with no login, and snapshots can be sent on a schedule as a PDF or JPG to email or Slack. Sharing and notifications are listed from the Team plan.

PromptLab has a report builder with custom metrics and KPIs, shown as tables, bar, line, pie and other charts. A dashboard can be shared with a public link. Scheduled digests send counts, lists and an AI summary to Slack, Telegram or WhatsApp every day, week or month: 3 digests on Basic and unlimited on Professional. There are no email reports.

Where Databox is stronger

Databox is stronger on reach. It has 130+ integrations where PromptLab reads only its own CRM data, and it can stream any dashboard to a smart TV. PromptLab has no TV mode.

It also sends scheduled snapshots to email as well as Slack, which PromptLab doesn't, and its AI analyst, Genie, comes with every plan, the free one included. If your reporting spans several apps beyond the CRM, Databox is the better fit.

Which should you choose?

Choose Databox if…

  • You need dashboards that combine data from many apps, with 130+ tools to connect.
  • You want dashboards streamed to a TV, or scheduled snapshots sent to email.
  • You want an AI analyst, Genie, on every plan, including the free one.

Choose PromptLab if…

  • You want your pipeline, deals, calls and meetings reported on without connecting a data source.
  • You want a daily or weekly digest with an AI summary in Slack, Telegram or WhatsApp.
  • You want dashboards, quotes and orders in one CRM, priced per user.

Frequently asked questions

Is PromptLab a Databox alternative?

Only for CRM reporting. PromptLab's dashboards cover deals, contacts, accounts, calls, meetings and custom objects. It does not pull in data from other apps, which is what Databox's 130+ integrations are for.

Is Databox cheaper than PromptLab?

Databox has a free plan, and paid plans from $71 a month for the account, billed annually. PromptLab starts at $11.99 a user a month billed monthly, so three users on Basic cost 3 × $11.99 = $35.97, against $199 for Databox's Team plan, where sharing is listed. PromptLab's price also includes the CRM.

Can PromptLab replace Databox?

If all your numbers live in the CRM, yes. If you report on data from other apps, no: PromptLab can't bring in data from outside the CRM.

Does Databox work with a CRM?

Yes. Its 130+ integrations include HubSpot CRM, Salesforce CRM and Pipedrive CRM, and it also connects databases, spreadsheets and APIs. The Free plan allows 3 data sources, so a CRM can be one of them.

Do I need a dashboard tool if my CRM has reports?

Not for CRM numbers. PromptLab's dashboards and report builder cover deals, contacts, calls, meetings and custom objects on every plan from $11.99 a user a month. Use a dedicated tool when you combine data from many apps.
