Pricing: $79 to $319 against $11.99 to $99
Geckoboard charges by what you build, not by who looks. Essentials is from $79 a month with 2 dashboards, 1 editor and 1 screen. Performance is from $319 a month with 20 dashboards, 3 editors and 5 screens. Extra dashboards on Essentials are $24 each, and extra editors and screens $20 each. Every plan has unlimited viewers, and it can be tried free for 14 days.
PromptLab is priced per user: $11.99 for Basic, $23.99 for Professional and $99 for Business, billed monthly, with a 14-day free trial on Basic and Professional. That buys the whole CRM, with dashboards included from Basic. A team that also pays for a CRM pays for both tools.
Where the numbers come from
Geckoboard lists 90+ data sources and unlimited integrations on every plan, plus a spreadsheet integration for Google Sheets and Excel and a Datasets API for pushing in other data. So one screen can mix numbers from tools such as Zendesk, Shopify and Aircall.
PromptLab's dashboards read only the CRM: deals, contacts, accounts, calls, meetings and custom objects. There is nothing to connect, but there is also nothing to bring in from outside. Custom metrics are included, shown as tables, bar, line, pie and other charts, and KPIs.
Screens, sharing and scheduled reports
Geckoboard's screens and dashboard loops that rotate on a timer are on Essentials. Sharing links are on Essentials too, and viewers do not need an account. Snapshots can be scheduled to Slack, Microsoft Teams or email.
PromptLab has no TV mode. A dashboard can be shared with a public link, and scheduled digests send counts, lists and an AI summary to Slack, Telegram or WhatsApp every day, week or month: 3 digests on Basic and unlimited on Professional. There are no email reports.
Where Geckoboard is stronger
Geckoboard is stronger on live wall displays, with screens that loop dashboards on a timer, and on data from outside the CRM. Its Performance plan adds alerts to Slack or Microsoft Teams, drilldown, custom templates and metrics built from custom fields in HubSpot or Zendesk.
It also offers a Metrics MCP on Essentials, so Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools can work with your metrics. Claude and ChatGPT can connect to PromptLab over MCP too, on every plan. For a team that wants one shared screen across several tools, Geckoboard is the better fit.

Frequently asked questions
Is PromptLab a Geckoboard alternative?
Only for CRM reporting. PromptLab has dashboards and a report builder on deals, contacts, accounts, calls, meetings and custom objects. It has no TV mode and no way to bring in data from other apps.
Is Geckoboard cheaper than PromptLab?
It depends on the team. Geckoboard's Essentials is from $79 a month for the account, billed annually, with unlimited viewers. PromptLab's Basic is $11.99 a user a month billed monthly, so six users cost $71.94, and that price includes the whole CRM.
Can PromptLab replace Geckoboard?
For reporting on CRM data, yes. For TV screens that loop dashboards, or for data from outside the CRM, no.
Does Geckoboard work with a CRM?
Yes. On the Performance plan it can build metrics from custom fields in HubSpot or Zendesk, and it lists 90+ data sources in all.
Do I need a dashboard tool if my CRM has reports?
Not for CRM numbers. PromptLab's dashboards and report builder cover deals, contacts, calls, meetings and custom objects on every plan from $11.99 a user a month. Use a dedicated tool when you combine data from many apps.
