The short answer
Choose it if your reps work through long call lists and need a power dialer with voicemail drop.
Choose it if you want calls, recordings and summaries on the contact without a sync.
Aircall is a dedicated cloud phone system for sales and support teams, with a shared inbox, IVR and call routing, and a power dialer from its Professional plan. PromptLab is a CRM for B2B teams that sell products, with calling built in. So the real choice is a separate phone system beside your CRM, or the calls living inside the CRM.
Below, the two are compared on price, calling and the dialer, and SMS, numbers and routing. We make PromptLab, so every figure comes from Aircall's own pricing and product pages and PromptLab's pricing page, and we say where Aircall is stronger. Prices are per user a month, Aircall billed annually and PromptLab billed monthly, unless we say otherwise.

Pricing: $30 to $50 against $11.99 to $99
Aircall has Essentials at $30 a licence and Professional at $50, both billed annually, and every plan needs at least 3 licences, so the smallest team pays $90 a month. Enterprise, for teams of 25 or more, is custom priced. Those prices buy the phone system alone. Each extra number is $6 a month.
PromptLab has Basic at $11.99, Professional at $23.99 and Business at $99 a user, billed monthly. Calling is on Professional, so $23.99 gets the dialer and the rest of the CRM: contacts, deals, quotes, the shared inbox and more. A team that also pays for a CRM beside Aircall pays for both. PromptLab has a 14-day free trial on Basic and Professional, and neither tool has a free plan.
Calling, recording and AI summaries
PromptLab's dialer runs in the browser. You call a contact from their record, take inbound calls on your local US or Canadian number, and callers you miss can leave voicemail. Every call is recorded, transcribed and summarised, and the action items are added to the contact.
Aircall records calls and includes AI transcripts on Essentials. Summaries, key topics and sentiment analysis are on Professional, or need the AI Assist add-on on Essentials. AI Assist Pro, with real-time help during calls, is a $49 a seat add-on.
Dialer, routing and numbers
This is where the two differ most. Aircall's Power Dialer, voicemail drop and outbound call campaigns start on Professional at $50, and IVR and call routing come with Essentials. PromptLab has no power dialer, no IVR, no call transfer and no voicemail drop.
On numbers, PromptLab's Professional plan gives one local US or Canadian number. Each Aircall plan includes one local or toll-free number, and more cost $6 a month. Both include SMS: Aircall's covers unlimited inbound and 4,000 outbound messages a user a month across six countries, and PromptLab's is two-way SMS from the same number as your calls.
Where Aircall is stronger
Aircall is the stronger phone system. It has a power dialer, voicemail drop, IVR and call routing, none of which PromptLab offers, plus outbound call campaigns and AI Voice Agents that answer and resolve calls. Its SMS works in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, France and Germany, and it offers toll-free numbers.
It also works with the CRM or help desk you already have: HubSpot, Zendesk and Pipedrive on Essentials, and Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud on Professional. A support team, or a sales team that works long call lists, is better served by Aircall.
Calls on the contact record
In PromptLab each call, with its recording, transcript, summary and action items, is logged on the contact. There is no integration to set up and nothing to sync.
Two-way SMS comes from the same number, in the same inbox as email, WhatsApp and Telegram. That suits reps who call customers they already work with rather than long cold lists.

- Your reps call customers they already work with, not cold lists.
Frequently asked questions
Is PromptLab an Aircall alternative?
For reps who call from their CRM, yes: PromptLab's Professional plan has a browser dialer, recording, transcripts and SMS. For power dialling, IVR and routing, no, because PromptLab has none of those.
Is Aircall cheaper than PromptLab?
No. Aircall's cheapest plan is $30 a licence billed annually, with at least 3 licences, while PromptLab's Professional plan, which has calling, is $23.99 a user billed monthly. Aircall's price is the phone alone, and PromptLab's includes the CRM.
Can PromptLab replace Aircall?
If one local US or Canadian number, recording and SMS cover your calls, it can. If you rely on the power dialer, IVR, routing or numbers outside the US and Canada, it can't.
Does Aircall work with a CRM?
Yes. HubSpot, Zendesk and Pipedrive integrations are on Essentials, and Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud are on Professional.
Is there a CRM with a built-in dialer?
Yes. PromptLab's Professional plan, at $23.99 a user a month, includes a browser dialer with a local US or Canadian number, call recording, transcripts, AI summaries and two-way SMS, with a 14-day free trial.
