Pricing: $39 to $79 against $11.99 to $99

Dialpad Sell has Essentials at $39, Advanced at $59 and Premium at $79 a user billed annually, or $49, $70 and $95 billed monthly. Premium is annual only. Those prices buy the sales phone alone, and Essentials can be tried free from the pricing page.

PromptLab has Basic at $11.99, Professional at $23.99 and Business at $99 a user, billed monthly, and calling is on Professional. So $23.99 gets the dialer and the whole CRM. A team that also pays for a CRM beside Dialpad pays for both. Neither has a free plan, and PromptLab's Basic and Professional have a 14-day trial.

What each does with a call

Dialpad Sell's Essentials includes unlimited US and Canada minutes, AI transcripts and recaps, and a year of recording and transcript retrieval. Live Coach comes with Advanced at $59, and scorecards, playbooks and a coaching hub come with Premium at $79.

PromptLab records every call on Professional, writes a transcript and a summary, and adds the action items to the contact. Calls are made from the contact's record in the browser.

Dialer, numbers and SMS

Dialpad Dialer, a progressive dialer that calls through a list and connects reps only to answered calls, comes with Sell Premium at $79. Voicemail drop and local presence dialling come with Advanced at $59. PromptLab has no power dialer and no voicemail drop.

Every Sell plan has department IVR and round-robin, longest-idle and fixed-order routing; PromptLab has no IVR or call routing. Each Dialpad user gets a direct line, and extra local and toll-free numbers are an add-on. PromptLab's Professional gives one local US or Canadian number. Dialpad includes inbound SMS and 250 outbound, pooled across the account; PromptLab has two-way SMS from the same number as calls.

Where Dialpad is stronger

Dialpad Sell is built for outbound reps. It has a progressive dialer, voicemail drop and IVR with call routing, none of which PromptLab offers, plus local presence dialling. For managers who coach from calls, it adds Live Coach on Advanced and scorecards and playbooks on Premium.

Dialpad says Sell integrates with CRMs such as Salesforce, HubSpot and Zoho, syncing call data and insights. If your CRM stays where it is, Dialpad is the phone that plugs into it.

Dialling from the CRM

In PromptLab the call, its summary and the action items are already on the contact. There is no sync to configure.

Texts arrive in the same inbox as email, WhatsApp and Telegram, each attached to its contact. It suits reps who call people they already know.
