Proton.ai review 2026

Our Proton.ai review for B2B product sales: strong ERP-fed reorder prompts, but pricing by quote only, no trial, no meeting recording, no WhatsApp or Telegram.

REVIEW 2026Proton.ai

We make PromptLab, a competing CRM, so read this with that in mind. Proton.ai's details below are from its own pages, and we say where it is ahead of us.

The verdict: Proton.ai is an AI platform for distributors that plugs into the ERP and tells reps who to call, what to sell and who is due to reorder. Its pricing is by quote only, with no free trial, and it doesn't record meetings or cover WhatsApp and Telegram.

What Proton.ai does well

It reads your ERP. It connects to ERPs, even AS/400 green screens, so the data your reps need is already in front of them.

Reorder and product prompts. It tells reps who to call, what to sell and who is due to reorder, across catalogues as large as 500,000 SKUs. We don't match that out of the box.

Quotes and sales orders. Both are there, with quote and order entry fed from your system of record.

A fuller platform. The CRM is one product beside product data and e-commerce, so a distributor gets more than a contact list.

Voice notes and call prep. Reps can prepare for a call with its assistant, Pronto, and log notes by voice between stops. Email from Outlook and Gmail logs to customer records, and there is an API and workflow automation.

Where Proton.ai falls short for B2B product sales

  • Pricing only after a demo. It is custom and quoted, so you can't compare it with anything else before you talk to its team. Our Proton.ai pricing post covers what that means.
  • No free trial. You can't try it on your own customers first.
  • No meeting recording. What the buyer said survives only in the rep's notes, and there are no AI meeting summaries.
  • Email, but not chat. WhatsApp and Telegram stay on each rep's phone.
  • No MCP server. Claude and ChatGPT can't read or update the CRM.
  • No sample tracking or price lists, and no single sign-on.
  • No documented self-serve export, so leaving means asking its team for a file.

For a distributor whose buyers confirm orders on WhatsApp, the chat gap matters more than it sounds. The order is agreed in a thread the CRM never sees.

Our verdict

Choose Proton.ai if you are a large distributor and the ERP link is the point. Reorder prompts and recommendations fed from your system of record are what it does best, and we don't match that depth.

Choose PromptLab if you want to start this week. Quotes, customer price lists, sales orders and sample tracking are on every plan, at $11.99, $23.99 or $99 a user a month, with a 14-day trial on Basic and Professional. Meetings are recorded and summarised, and email, WhatsApp and Telegram share one Inbox.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Proton.ai cost?

Proton.ai doesn't publish prices. Pricing is custom, quoted after a demo.

Is Proton.ai a CRM?

Yes, and more. Its CRM is one product in an AI platform for distributors, alongside product data, e-commerce, and quote and order entry, all fed by the ERP.

Does Proton.ai record meetings?

No. Reps can prepare with its assistant and log notes by voice, but the meeting itself isn't recorded. PromptLab records, transcribes and summarises meetings.

Does Proton.ai work with WhatsApp and Telegram?

No. Outlook and Gmail email logs to customer records, but WhatsApp and Telegram stay on each rep's phone. PromptLab puts email, WhatsApp and Telegram in one shared Inbox.

Can I move from Proton.ai to PromptLab?

Yes. Export customers, quotes and orders from your ERP, ask Proton.ai for the rest, then import the files and map the columns. Our migration guide walks through it.
