Our pick for product teams

HubSpot and Proton.ai are built for different buyers. HubSpot is a polished all-in-one suite: a free CRM, marketing tools few rivals match and published prices. Proton.ai is an AI platform for distributors that plugs into the ERP and tells reps who to call and what to sell.

Below, the two are compared on price, quotes and orders, calls and AI, and messaging. Every figure comes from the vendors' own pricing and product pages; HubSpot prices are per seat a month, billed annually, unless we say otherwise.

Pricing: $7 to $150 against a quote after a demo

HubSpot publishes four plans. The CRM itself is free, and paid Sales Hub plans run from $7 a seat a month, billed annually, to $150 for the top plan. Professional and Enterprise also carry a one-off onboarding fee of $1,500 to $3,500, and there's a free trial.

Proton.ai doesn't publish prices. You book a demo, talk through your ERP and catalogue, and get a quote afterwards. There's no free trial, so a straight price comparison isn't possible until you've done that.

A marketing suite against an ERP-fed assistant

HubSpot's strength is breadth. Its marketing automation goes well beyond a sales CRM, so a company that wants inbound marketing and sales in one place gets both.

Proton.ai's strength is depth in one trade. It reads from systems such as SAP, NetSuite and AS/400 green screens, then tells a rep who to call, what to sell and who is due to reorder, across catalogues as large as 500,000 SKUs.

Quotes and orders

Proton.ai is ahead here. Quotes and sales orders are part of the platform, fed by the ERP. HubSpot sells quoting through Revenue Hub, a separate product on top of Sales Hub, and has no sales orders.

Neither tracks samples or keeps price lists. A distributor sending trial batches will record them somewhere else in both cases.

Calls, meetings and AI

Proton.ai doesn't record meetings and has no AI summaries. It does draft follow-up emails and fill CRM fields from calls, and its assistant, Pronto, helps reps prepare and log notes by voice.

HubSpot includes meeting summaries from the entry plan, but call recording, follow-up drafts and CRM autofill start on Professional at $90 a seat. HubSpot also supports MCP, so Claude or ChatGPT can connect to it. Proton.ai has no MCP server.

Messaging, LinkedIn and security

Neither supports Telegram. WhatsApp is an add-on on HubSpot and isn't offered by Proton.ai. LinkedIn profile saving and single sign-on both wait for HubSpot's $150 plan, while Proton.ai has neither.

Both sync email, run workflows and offer an API. HubSpot also includes a call dialer, and Proton.ai doesn't.

We make PromptLab, so here is why product teams pick it over both.

Why PromptLab is the better choice for teams that sell products

PromptLab is a CRM for B2B teams that sell products. On their entry plans, neither HubSpot nor Proton.ai includes sample tracking, price lists, meeting recording, WhatsApp, Telegram and LinkedIn profile saving. PromptLab has all of them on every plan, from $11.99 a user a month.

  • A quote with line items next to a sample tube and a price tag

    Quotes without a second hub

PromptLab keeps quotes, price lists and sales orders on the account and the deal, from the $11.99 Basic plan. There is nothing extra to buy and no custom object to build first.
