Close vs PromptLab

Close is built for reps who live on the phone. PromptLab records and summarises meetings too, then adds the quotes, samples and price lists a product sale needs, with pipelines and automation on the $11.99 plan.

Close

Close is a calling-first CRM: the dialer, email and SMS live inside it, and Chloe, its AI teammate, summarises calls and updates records on every plan. For a team selling products, quotes, samples and price lists are missing, pipelines start at $35 a seat, and workflows at $99.

PromptLab

PromptLab adds what Close leaves out of a product sale: quotes, sample tracking, price lists and sales orders, with pipelines and workflow automation on the $11.99 plan. AI drafts the follow-up email after each meeting, and the Chrome extension saves LinkedIn profiles in one click.

Quotes, samples and price lists in the CRM

Close runs the conversation well, but not the paperwork behind it. Quotes, samples and price lists aren't part of it, so the quote goes out from a spreadsheet the CRM never sees.

PromptLab keeps quotes, sample tracking, price lists and sales orders on the account and the deal, on every plan. When the buyer calls back, the quote and the sample are right there.

The follow-up email, drafted for you

Calls are recorded and Chloe summarises them, which saves real time. The follow-up email is still the rep's job, written from scratch after every call.

After each meeting, PromptLab writes the summary and drafts the follow-up email from what was said, ready to review. Before the next one, it prepares a brief on the account.

Save LinkedIn profiles from your browser

Close has no built-in way to save LinkedIn profiles, so reps copy names, titles and companies into the CRM by hand, or skip it and lose the lead.

One click in PromptLab's Chrome extension saves a LinkedIn profile to the CRM. Prospects you find on LinkedIn become contacts the whole team can see and follow up.

Workflow automation on every plan

Workflows sit on Close's Growth plan, at $99 a seat a month billed annually, and pipelines start on Essentials at $35. On Solo and Essentials, that automation isn't available.

PromptLab includes workflow automation from the $11.99 Basic plan. Trigger on a change in the CRM, then create a task or update the record, without upgrading to get there.

A migration checklist nearly done
1. Export from Close

In Close, search or filter your leads, open the ⋯ menu and select Export. Choose Leads, Contacts or Opportunities and download the CSV.

2. Select Import in PromptLab

Open the Accounts, Contacts or Deals list, select Import and upload the CSV, or pick it from Google Drive.

3. Map the columns

Is Close a CRM?

Yes. Close is a sales CRM built around calling, email and SMS, with Chloe, an AI teammate that summarises calls and updates records, on every plan.

Which is better, Close or PromptLab?

Is PromptLab cheaper than Close?

It depends on the plan. Close's $9 Solo plan costs less but has no pipeline; pipelines start at $35 and workflows at $99, billed annually. PromptLab includes both, with quotes, on its $11.99 plan.

Can I move from Close to PromptLab?

Yes. Export leads, contacts and opportunities from Close as CSV, then select Import on PromptLab's Accounts, Contacts or Deals list and map the columns.
