MIGRATIONMove from monday CRMAccounts, deals, quotes and history1Export each board

Moving from monday CRM to PromptLab starts with its boards. Export each board to Excel, import the file on the matching PromptLab list, map every column to a field, and then try the imported pipeline on real deals during your free trial.

This guide covers why product sales teams switch, how to prepare, the four steps and a first-week plan.

Why do product sales teams move from monday CRM?

monday CRM is the friendliest way to build a CRM from boards and columns, and quotes and invoices are there from its $12 Basic plan. If your company already runs on monday.com and wants sales on the same boards, that fit is real.

The catch is the building. Someone has to design the sales process as boards and keep it tidy. For a product team, sales orders, sample tracking and customer price lists aren't there, so teams rebuild them as extra boards or keep them in spreadsheets. The AI notetaker, automations and email sync all start on Standard at $17 a seat a month billed annually, and WhatsApp and Telegram aren't supported.

We took those monday CRM prices from its pricing page on 30 September 2026. For more, read our monday CRM alternatives and the monday CRM vs PromptLab comparison.

Which boards to bring, and what to settle first

Boards are easy to copy, so a sales team can end up with several versions of one pipeline. Settle what you're keeping before you export.

Moving to PromptLab

From monday CRM in four steps

  1. 1Export each boardOpen a board, select the ⋯ menu and choose Export to Excel. Repeat for your leads, contacts and deals boards.
  2. 2Select Import in PromptLabOpen the Accounts, Contacts or Deals list, select Import and upload the Excel file, or pick it from Google Drive.
  3. 3Map columns to fieldsMatch each monday column to one of ours, such as status to deal stage. Quotes, tasks and notes import the same way, from their own lists.
  4. 4Work real deals firstRun your imported pipeline with us during the 14-day free trial. Our Enterprise plan adds data migration support for the rest of your history.

Step 1: export each board

Open a board, select the ⋯ menu and choose Export to Excel. Repeat for your leads, contacts and deals boards.

If one board mixes companies and people, split it into two sheets before you import. PromptLab keeps accounts and contacts as separate lists, linked to each other.

Step 2: select Import in PromptLab

Open the Accounts, Contacts or Deals list, select Import and upload the Excel file, or pick it from Google Drive. Start with accounts, then contacts, then deals.

Step 3: map columns to fields

Match each monday column to one of PromptLab's fields, such as status to deal stage. Quotes, tasks and notes import the same way, from their own lists.

Free-text status columns are the usual snag. Before you import, make the stage options in PromptLab match the values in the file, so a deal marked "Negotiating" has a stage to land in.

Then count. The number of rows in each Excel file should match the number of records in the PromptLab list, less any rows you chose to leave out.

Step 4: work real deals first

Run your imported pipeline in PromptLab during the 14-day free trial. Update real deals there, send one real quote, and see whether the team misses anything. Enterprise adds data migration support for the rest of your history.

Don't delete the old boards straight away. Keep them for a few weeks as a reference, in case someone asks where a number came from.

Your first week without boards

  • Pipeline. Set your stages once, then view them as a Kanban board. There are no boards to design and no columns to maintain.
  • Meetings. Link Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams. The first plan records meetings, writes summaries and drafts follow-ups.
  • Conversations. Connect Gmail or Outlook, then WhatsApp and Telegram, and watch chats arrive on the right contact.
  • Orders, samples and price lists. Create price lists, log samples, and raise a sales order when a quote is accepted. See how to write a sales quote.
  • Workflows. Add a follow-up task whenever a quote changes status.
