What is a subscription billing template?
A subscription billing template tracks recurring revenue in three linked tables: the subscriptions customers are on, the invoices each subscription bills, and the payments made against them. Because they are linked, the numbers work themselves out: a subscription knows its MRR and how much it has paid, and an invoice knows its balance due.
In PromptLab the pack installs all three as custom objects, linked to each other and to your accounts, contacts and opportunities, with sample rows whose totals already add up.

1Subscriptions, with MRR worked out
Each subscription has a Status (Trialing, Active, Past due, Paused, Canceled), a Plan, an Amount and a Billing period. The MRR formula turns any period into a monthly figure: Northwind pays $9,600 yearly and shows $800 MRR, the same as Fold & Co on $2,400 a quarter.
Total paid adds up the payments that succeeded, and the dates cover the life of a subscription: start, trial end, renewal and cancellation, with a Cancels at period end checkbox for customers who have given notice.

2Invoices that know what is still owed
Billing invoices run Draft, Open, Paid, Void and Uncollectible, and each is linked to its subscription. Amount paid sums the invoice's succeeded payments and Balance due subtracts it from the amount, so INV-0044, Stackwise's $99 invoice whose card payment failed, still shows the full $99 due.
Each invoice has a Payment link and a place for the Invoice PDF.

3Payments, linked to both
Every payment records its Status (Succeeded, Pending, Failed, Refunded), Amount, date and Method, and links to the invoice and the subscription it paid. Only succeeded payments count towards Amount paid and Total paid, so a refund or a failed card never inflates revenue.

4Stripe's names, your CRM's customers
The objects and statuses follow Stripe's own, and every record has a Stripe ID column for the ID Stripe gave it, so a row can be matched to its Stripe object. All three link to the Account and Contact, and subscriptions and invoices to the Deal as well, so billing sits on the same records your team sells to.
