What is a partnerships template?
A partnerships template is a ready-made record for every company you work with as a partner rather than a customer: resellers, referrers, technology partners and agencies. Each partner has a stage, a type, a revenue share and a start date, and is linked to its account in the CRM.
In PromptLab it installs as a custom object with six sample partners, from an active reseller to a technology partner whose integration was retired.
What's inside
| Field | Type | Choices and details |

| Type | Select | Reseller, Referral, Technology, Agency |
| Website | URL | |

| Revenue share % | Number | |
| Start date | Date | |
| Notes | Long text | |
| Account | Link | Links to Account |
1One record per partner
Partner, Stage, Type, Website, Contact email, Revenue share %, Start date, Notes and Account. Northwind is an Active Reseller on a 20% share, Brightlane is still Negotiating a referral deal (the note says they are asking for 12% on first-year revenue), and Stackwise is a Technology partner with a two-way sync live since spring.
Stage runs Prospect, Negotiating, Active, Paused and Ended, so a partner that went quiet is Paused rather than deleted, and the history of the program stays in one table.

2Linked to the account, not copied
The Account field links each partner to its company record in PromptLab. The partner row keeps what is specific to the partnership, the share, the type and the stage, while the account keeps the contacts, emails and deals you already have with that company.
3Make it fit your program
Rename the types to the tiers you actually run, add stages, or add fields such as a partner manager or a contract end date. Every field and choice can be changed after install, and a CSV or Excel export of your current partner list can be imported straight into the object.
