DocuSign and Proposify both get a document signed, but they start from different places. DocuSign is an e-signature service: you bring the agreement, it sends and stores it. Proposify is a proposal tool: you build the document in its editor, with prices from a catalogue, and then send it for signing.

Below, the two are compared on price, templates, pricing tables, payments, tracking and CRM links. Every figure comes from the vendors' own pricing and product pages; prices are per user a month, billed annually, unless we say otherwise.

Pricing: $10 to $40 against $35 to $107

DocuSign starts lower. Personal is $10 and allows 5 envelopes a month. Standard is $25 a user and Business Pro $40, with 100 envelopes per user a year on each. Enhanced plans are by quote.

Proposify starts at $35 a user for Build ($420 a year). Grow is $65 with 5 users included, and Scale is $12,800 a year with 10 users and onboarding. The difference is the limit: Proposify has unlimited documents and signatures on every plan, where DocuSign caps envelopes.

Templates and pricing tables

Proposify is built for priced proposals. The product catalogue, content library and document insights come with Build, and custom template design is an extra $1,500 on Build. DocuSign has reusable templates on every plan, but its plans page doesn't list pricing tables.

If your document is a contract that already exists, DocuSign's reusable templates cover it. If it is a quote with line items from a catalogue, Proposify has the tools for that and DocuSign's plans page does not list them.

Payments and tracking

Proposify includes payments, through Stripe, from Build. DocuSign collects payments during signing only on Business Pro at $40 or an Enhanced plan. It takes cards, ACH, SEPA, Apple Pay and Google Pay through gateways such as Stripe.

Proposify's analytics show when each recipient opens a document and how long they spend in each section. DocuSign gives real-time audit trails, notifications and reminders on every plan, and lists real-time document status updates among its features.

CRM integrations

Proposify lists 21 CRMs, among them HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce, Zoho and Copper. DocuSign lists apps for Salesforce and HubSpot, and the pricing page cites more than 1000 partner integrations.

DocuSign can generate documents from Salesforce on its Enhanced plans. Proposify's Salesforce managed package is on Scale, as a premium add-on.

We make PromptLab, so here is where it fits.

Or quote from inside your CRM

PromptLab builds quotes from your products and price lists, with a discount on each line, then gives you a PDF and a link the customer can open. The quote stays on the deal, with its status from draft to approved.

When the customer agrees, the order lives in the same CRM as a sales order with its invoice. There are no e-signatures, payments or view tracking, so pair it with a signing tool if your contracts need one.
