What is a candidate tracking template?
A candidate tracking template is a hiring pipeline: one record per applicant with the role they applied for, the stage they are at, where they came from and what they expect to earn, plus their resume on file. A board by stage shows how many people are in screening, interview and offer for every open role.
In PromptLab it installs as a custom object with six sample candidates across the stages, so the board has a shape before your first real applicant arrives.

1Eight fields per applicant
Name, Role, Stage, Email, Phone, Source, Expected salary and Resume. Aisha Khan is interviewing for Account Executive after applying through LinkedIn, expecting $95,000; Priya Nair has an offer for Marketing Manager and came in through an agency.
Source is a select with LinkedIn, Referral, Job board, Website and Agency, so you can see which channel your hires actually come from. Resume is a file field: attach the PDF to the candidate rather than keeping it in an inbox.

2A board from Applied to Hired
Stage runs Applied, Screening, Interview, Offer, Hired and Rejected, and the template adds a shared Board view grouped by it. Set a candidate's stage on their record and they move to that column.

3Fit it to your hiring process
Add the stages your process has, a technical round or a reference check, and fields like interviewer, notice period or a scorecard rating. Every field and choice can be edited after install, and a CSV or Excel export from a job board can be imported into the object.
