Pricing: $8.33 to $19.99 against $11.99 to $99

Otter Pro is $8.33 a seat a month and Business $19.99, billed annually, and Enterprise has no published price. PromptLab's plans are Basic at $11.99, Professional at $23.99 and Business at $99, billed monthly, with meeting notes on Basic. On yearly billing the entry plans are level: Otter Pro comes to $99.96 a seat a year and PromptLab Basic is $99 a user a year.

Otter's plan is the note-taker alone; PromptLab's is the whole CRM, with the notes included. A team that also pays for a CRM pays for both. Otter's Basic plan is free, with 300 transcription minutes a month; PromptLab has no free plan but a 14-day trial on Basic and Professional.

Live transcription and meeting limits

Otter's pricing page lists live transcription, with live notes and captioning for Google Meet and Zoom. PromptLab's bot records the call and writes a transcript; the summary, action items and follow-up draft arrive after the call.

Otter's limits depend on the plan. Pro allows meetings of up to 90 minutes and 1,200 minutes a month; Business is unlimited and runs to 4 hours. Pro can join 2 meetings at once and Business 3.

Languages, follow-ups and Ask AI

Otter's AI transcription covers six languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Chinese. PromptLab transcribes in more than 30, so it covers more languages.

Otter's AI Chat searches across your meetings and connected apps and helps create follow-ups, with 20 queries per user a month on Basic, 50 on Pro and 200 on Business. PromptLab drafts a follow-up email after each call, and its Ask AI can search across meeting transcripts. Claude and ChatGPT can also connect to PromptLab over MCP, on every plan; Otter's free Basic plan includes an MCP server.

CRM sync

Otter syncs notes to Salesforce or HubSpot, for 1 user on Pro, 5 on Business and unlimited users on Enterprise. A team on Pro that wants more than one person syncing has to move up.

PromptLab saves notes on the deal itself and turns action items into CRM tasks on the deal and its contacts, so there is nothing to sync. It does not fill CRM fields after every meeting on its own; the user runs that autofill.

Where Otter is stronger

Otter has a free plan, which PromptLab doesn't, with 300 transcription minutes a month. Its pricing page also lists live transcription, with live notes and captioning for Google Meet and Zoom.

Otter also slots in beside a CRM you already have. If your team uses Salesforce or HubSpot and won't move, Otter adds notes to it.

Which should you choose?

Choose Otter if…

  • You want live transcription, with live notes and captioning for Google Meet and Zoom.
  • You want a free plan with 300 transcription minutes a month.
  • You already use Salesforce or HubSpot and want the notes synced there.

Choose PromptLab if…

  • You need transcription in more than 30 languages rather than six.
  • You want notes on the deal and action items as CRM tasks, with nothing to sync.
  • You want a follow-up email drafted for you after each call.

Frequently asked questions

Is PromptLab an Otter alternative?

For meeting notes, yes. PromptLab's bot records Zoom, Google Meet and Teams calls and writes a transcript, summary and action items. It is a CRM first, so it suits teams who want the notes on their deals rather than in a separate app.

Is Otter cheaper than PromptLab?

Otter's Basic plan is free, so for the notes alone it can cost nothing. On yearly billing, Otter Pro and PromptLab Basic are level, at $99.96 a seat and $99 a user a year, and PromptLab's price includes the CRM.

Can PromptLab replace Otter?

If you want transcripts, summaries and follow-ups after the call, tied to your deals, yes. If you rely on Otter's free plan, no: PromptLab has none.

Does Otter work with a CRM?

Yes, with Salesforce and HubSpot. Sync covers 1 user on Pro, 5 on Business and unlimited users on Enterprise.

Is there a CRM with an AI note-taker built in?

Yes. PromptLab records Zoom, Google Meet and Teams calls, transcribes them in more than 30 languages, summarises them and turns action items into CRM tasks, on every plan from $11.99 a user a month with a 14-day free trial.
