Otter Pro is $8.33 a seat a month and Business $19.99. tl;dv Pro is $18 and Business $29. Otter's annual price saves 51% on Pro and 33% on Business. Neither publishes an Enterprise price: Otter's has no listed price and tl;dv's is on request.

Otter's workspaces are limited to 5 billed users on Pro and 25 on Business. tl;dv says Business has no usage-based AI fees.

Free plans and trials

Otter's Basic plan is free, with 300 transcription minutes a month and conversations of up to 30 minutes. The home page lists a 7-day free trial with Business. tl;dv's Free plan has unlimited recordings and transcription, but only 10 meetings with AI notes and 10 Ask AI queries.

tl;dv's free data retention is up to 3 months. Business can be tried free from tl;dv's pricing page, which doesn't state a trial length.

Languages, live notes and meeting length

tl;dv transcribes in 30+ languages. Otter's AI transcription covers six: English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Chinese. Otter's pricing page also lists live transcription, with live notes and captioning for Google Meet and Zoom.

Meeting length differs too. Otter Pro allows meetings of up to 90 minutes and 1,200 minutes a month, and Business is unlimited with meetings of up to 4 hours. tl;dv's recording limit is 3 hours on every plan.

Follow-ups and Ask AI

tl;dv Pro adds unlimited AI notes, custom note templates, action item assignment and an email follow-up drafter. Otter's AI Chat helps create follow-ups, reports and content, and its pricing page doesn't list a separate follow-up email feature.

Both cap Ask AI. Otter AI Chat allows 20 queries per user a month on Basic, 50 on Pro and 200 on Business. tl;dv's multi-meeting Ask AI allows 5 queries on Free and Pro, and is unlimited on Business. Both include an MCP server on a low plan: Otter's free Basic, tl;dv's Pro.

Getting notes into a CRM

Otter syncs notes to Salesforce or HubSpot, for 1 user on Pro, 5 on Business and unlimited users on Enterprise. A team on Pro that wants more than one person syncing has to move up.

tl;dv's integrations page lists HubSpot, Salesforce and Zoho under CRMs. Pro includes CRM integrations for a personal account, and Business adds team-wide CRM integrations and automations.
