What you get without paying
Otter's Basic plan is free, with 300 transcription minutes a month and conversations of up to 30 minutes. The home page also lists a 7-day free trial with Business.
Avoma has no free plan. It gives a 14-day trial of the Organization plan with all add-ons, with no credit card. When the trial ends, the account becomes a viewer account until you buy seats, and past recordings stay viewable.
Languages and meeting limits
Avoma transcribes in 70+ languages. Otter's AI transcription covers six: English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Chinese. If your calls are in any other language, that settles it.
Avoma's plan table lists unlimited transcription minutes. Otter's depend on the plan: Pro gives 1,200 transcription minutes a month and meetings of up to 90 minutes, and Business has unlimited meeting transcription and meetings of up to 4 hours. Pro can join 2 meetings at once and Business 3.
AI Chat and Ask Avoma
Avoma's Startup plan includes AI follow-up emails and Ask Avoma for a single meeting. Global Ask Avoma, across all conversations, comes with Enterprise or the $29 Conversation Intelligence add-on. Otter's AI Chat searches across your meetings and connected apps, and helps create follow-ups.
Otter limits AI Chat to 20 queries per user a month on Basic, 50 on Pro and 200 on Business. Otter's free plan also includes an MCP server.
CRM sync and scheduling
Avoma saves notes automatically to Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive and Copper records, starting on Startup. Otter syncs to Salesforce or HubSpot, and by user count: 1 user on Pro, 5 on Business and unlimited on Enterprise.
Avoma's list of CRMs is the longer one, and it starts on the cheapest paid plan. Avoma also includes unlimited 1:1 scheduling links on every plan.

Or record meetings inside your CRM
PromptLab is a CRM with a notetaker built in. Its bot joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls, records them and writes a transcript in more than 30 languages.
After the call you get a summary, the action items as CRM tasks on the deal and its contacts, and a follow-up email drafted for you. The notes sit on the deal they belong to, so there is nothing to sync.
