Pricing: $15 to $25 against $8.33 to $19.99

Otter is cheaper. Pro is $8.33 a seat a month and Business is $19.99; Enterprise has no published price. Fathom's Team plan is $15 a user and Business is $25, each with a minimum of 2 users, and Premium for individuals is $16.

Fathom's Premium, Team and Business plans can each be started as a free trial, and every plan has a 90-day guarantee. Otter's home page lists a 7-day free trial with Business.

Free plans and meeting limits

Fathom's free plan has unlimited recordings and transcription, with instant AI summaries. Otter's free Basic plan gives 300 transcription minutes a month and limits each conversation to 30 minutes.

Otter's paid limits rise with the plan: meetings of up to 90 minutes and 1,200 minutes a month on Pro, then unlimited minutes and 4 hours on Business.

Languages

Fathom supports transcripts in 38 languages. Otter's AI transcription covers six: English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Chinese.

For a team that works in more than those six, Fathom is the safer pick of the two.

Follow-ups and Ask AI

Fathom's paid plans include AI follow-up emails and action items. Otter helps with follow-ups through its AI Chat, which also searches across your meetings and connected apps.

Otter limits AI Chat to 20 queries per user a month on Basic, 50 on Pro and 200 on Business. Fathom's account-wide Ask Fathom, for questions across all calls, is a beta feature.

CRM sync

Fathom syncs call notes to HubSpot and Salesforce, but on Free, Premium and Team only for up to 3 users per domain. Deal-field sync and Deal View start on Business at $25.

Otter also limits sync by user: Salesforce or HubSpot notes sync for 1 user on Pro, 5 on Business and unlimited users on Enterprise. So Fathom Team covers more people syncing than Otter Pro.

We make PromptLab, so here is where it fits.

Or record meetings inside your CRM

PromptLab is a CRM with a notetaker built in. Its bot joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls, records them and writes a transcript in more than 30 languages.

After the call you get a summary, the action items as CRM tasks on the deal and its contacts, and a follow-up email drafted for you. The notes sit on the deal they belong to, so there is nothing to sync.
