Pricing: $15 to $25 against $19 to $39
Fathom's Team plan is $15 a user a month and Business $25, both with a minimum of 2 users. Premium, for individuals, is $16 a month, and Enterprise is quoted by sales. Avoma's Startup is $19 per recorder seat, Organization $29 and Enterprise $39. Avoma's Enterprise is billed annually only and needs at least 10 paid seats.
Only Avoma's recorders pay. Viewers and collaborators are free, so a team where many people read notes but few record buys fewer seats. On top of the plan, Avoma's Conversation Intelligence and Revenue Intelligence are $29 add-ons, per seat a month.
Free plan or free trial
Fathom's Free plan has unlimited recordings and transcription, instant AI summaries, and search across calls. Premium, Team and Business can each be started as a free trial, though the pricing page doesn't state its length, and every plan carries a 90-day guarantee.
Avoma has no free plan. It offers a 14-day free trial of the Organization plan with all add-ons, with no credit card needed. After the trial an account switches to a viewer role until seats are bought, and past recordings stay viewable.
Languages and bot-less recording
Avoma transcribes in 70+ languages, Fathom in 38. Avoma records on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, WebEx and GoToMeeting. Fathom works with Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Both can record without a bot. Avoma's pricing page lists bot-less native recording next to its bot. Fathom's bot-free capture is a beta feature for Mac.
Follow-ups and asking across calls
Fathom's action items and follow-up emails come with Premium, along with a custom meeting bot. Avoma's Startup plan includes AI follow-up emails.
Asking questions across all your calls is less settled. Fathom's account-wide Ask Fathom is a beta feature. Avoma's global Ask Avoma comes with Enterprise or the $29 Conversation Intelligence add-on; Startup has Ask Avoma for a single meeting.
Which CRMs each one fills
Fathom syncs with HubSpot and Salesforce. Its plan table limits CRM syncs to 3 users per domain on Free, Premium and Team. Business adds CRM field sync, Deal View, coaching metrics and AI scorecards, and syncing summaries to HubSpot deal fields is for Business and Enterprise only.
Avoma's Startup plan saves notes automatically to Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive and Copper records. The list is longer, and it starts on the cheapest paid plan.
We make PromptLab, so here is where it fits.
Or record meetings inside your CRM
PromptLab is a CRM with a notetaker built in. Its bot joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls, records them and writes a transcript in more than 30 languages.
After the call you get a summary, the action items as CRM tasks on the deal and its contacts, and a follow-up email drafted for you. The notes sit on the deal they belong to, so there is nothing to sync.
