Our pick for product teams

Dynamics 365 Sales and Proton.ai both carry quotes and sales orders, but they come from different worlds. Dynamics 365 is Microsoft's family of business apps, ERP included, and Sales is its CRM, working inside Outlook and Teams. Proton.ai is an AI platform for distributors that plugs into the ERP and tells reps who to call and what to sell.

Below, the two are compared on price, ERP and setup, quotes and orders, AI, and messaging. Every figure comes from the vendors' own pricing and product pages; Dynamics 365 prices are per user a month, billed annually.

Pricing: $65 to $150 against a quote

Dynamics 365 Sales publishes three plans: Professional at $65, Enterprise at $105 and Premium at $150 a user, with a free trial. Proton.ai doesn't publish prices: it quotes after a demo, and has no free trial.

Neither entry point tells the whole story. On Dynamics 365 Sales, quotes and price lists come with the $65 plan, but meeting recording and the other AI tools need a higher one. Proton.ai's pricing and packaging come from its team once you've talked through your ERP, catalogue and setup.

Two routes to the ERP

Dynamics 365 Sales is the natural CRM for a Microsoft company, and wins especially where the company already runs a Dynamics ERP. Proton.ai plugs into systems from SAP and NetSuite to AS/400 green screens, across catalogues as large as 500,000 SKUs.

Dynamics 365 Sales gives an admin a lot to decide, from environments and security roles to licences and Copilot credits, and many companies bring in a Microsoft partner. Proton.ai starts with a demo, where its team talks through your ERP and catalogue.

Quotes, orders and price lists

Both have quotes and sales orders built in: Dynamics 365 Sales from its $65 plan, Proton.ai fed by the ERP. Dynamics 365 Sales adds price lists, which Proton.ai doesn't have.

Neither tracks samples, so a distributor sending trial batches keeps that record somewhere else on both.

AI, calls and MCP

Proton.ai drafts follow-up emails and fills CRM fields from calls, and its assistant, Pronto, helps reps prepare and log notes by voice. It doesn't record calls, summarise meetings or offer MCP.

Dynamics 365 Sales has all of that, higher up. Recording, summaries, follow-up drafts and the dialer start on Enterprise at $105, and CRM autofill and MCP on Premium at $150. Its MCP server also needs Copilot Studio admin rights and Copilot credits.

Messaging and sign-in

WhatsApp is an add-on on Dynamics 365 Sales, and Proton.ai has no WhatsApp. Neither supports Telegram. LinkedIn tools are an add-on on Dynamics 365 Sales and absent from Proton.ai.

Single sign-on comes with Dynamics 365 Sales, and Proton.ai doesn't have it.

We make PromptLab, so here is why product teams pick it over both.
