Close and HubSpot suit different kinds of sales team. Close is a calling-first CRM, with the dialer, email and SMS built in. HubSpot is a suite with a free CRM at its centre and marketing tools few rivals match.

Below, the two are compared on price, calls and AI, pipelines and automation, quoting and messaging. Every figure comes from the vendors' own pricing and product pages; prices are per user a month, billed annually, unless we say otherwise.

Pricing: $9 to $139 against $7 to $150

Close has four plans from $9 on Solo to $139. HubSpot's Smart CRM is free, and its paid Sales Hub plans run from $7 on Starter to $150. The ranges are close, but they climb differently.

HubSpot's Professional and Enterprise plans add a one-off onboarding fee of $1,500 to $3,500. Close's cheapest plan has no pipeline: pipelines start on Essentials at $35.

Calls: where Close is strongest

Close records calls, has a built-in dialer and uses Chloe, its AI teammate, to summarise calls and update records, all on every plan. Power and Predictive dialling are available on higher plans, which is why it is the stronger pick for a high-volume calling team.

HubSpot has a dialer too, but call recording and transcripts start on Sales Hub Professional at $90 a seat, as do CRM fields filled in from calls. Meeting summaries are in HubSpot's entry plan.

Follow-ups, pipelines and automation

Close does not draft follow-up emails, so the rep writes each one. HubSpot drafts them from Professional at $90. On Close, workflows start on Growth at $99 a seat; HubSpot's workflows are in its entry plan.

HubSpot also has marketing automation that goes far beyond a sales CRM. Both support MCP, so Claude or ChatGPT can connect to the CRM.

Quotes and orders

Close has no quotes, sales orders, price lists or samples. HubSpot moved quoting into Revenue Hub, a separate product sold on top of Sales Hub, and has no sales orders, price lists or samples either.

For a team that sends quotes, that means a separate product on HubSpot and a spreadsheet or another tool next to Close.

Messaging and security

WhatsApp is included on Close and an add-on on HubSpot. Neither supports Telegram. Saving LinkedIn profiles is not offered on Close and starts at HubSpot's $150 tier.

Single sign-on on Close is Google only; HubSpot offers it on its $150 tier.
