Copper and HubSpot are both CRMs, aimed at different habits. Copper is the CRM for Google Workspace teams, running inside Gmail and Calendar. HubSpot is an all-in-one suite with a free CRM and marketing tools few rivals match.

Below, the two are compared on price, how they fit your inbox, quotes, calls and AI, and messaging. Every figure comes from the vendors' own pricing and product pages; prices are per user a month, billed annually, unless we say otherwise.

Pricing: a free CRM against a $23 start

Copper has three plans, from $23 to $99 a seat. HubSpot's Smart CRM is free, and its Sales Hub has plans from $7 on Starter to $150.

HubSpot is cheaper to start. Its Professional and Enterprise plans carry a one-off onboarding fee of $1,500 to $3,500. Count that fee when you compare the two at the upper tiers.

Living in Gmail, or in a suite

Copper runs inside Gmail and Calendar, adds prospects from LinkedIn without switching tabs, and syncs Drive and Contacts on every plan. It also tracks projects next to deals. For a small team that lives in Gmail, it is a light CRM to adopt.

HubSpot is a suite, not an inbox add-on. Its free CRM sits at the centre of marketing, sales and service hubs, and its marketing automation goes far beyond a sales CRM. If marketing and sales must run together, that is its case.

Quotes, orders and contact limits

Neither includes quotes on the entry plan. In Copper they come from a marketplace app such as PandaDoc; in HubSpot they now sit in Revenue Hub, a separate product sold on top of Sales Hub. Neither has sales orders, price lists or sample tracking.

Copper's Basic plan, at $23, stops at 2,500 contacts.

Calls, AI and MCP

Copper has no meeting recording, no AI summaries, no CRM autofill and no MCP. Follow-up drafts start on Professional at $59.

HubSpot records and transcribes calls from Sales Hub Professional at $90 a seat, which is also where follow-up drafts and CRM autofill start. Meeting summaries are available on its entry plan, and it has MCP for connecting AI assistants.

Automation, messaging and security

Workflows and API access start on Copper's Professional plan at $59; on HubSpot, both are available from the start. The dialer comes with HubSpot and via marketplace on Copper.

WhatsApp is a marketplace app on Copper and an add-on on HubSpot; neither supports Telegram. LinkedIn is built into Copper, while HubSpot keeps it for the $150 tier, which is also where its single sign-on starts. Copper's SSO begins at $99.
