Our pick for product teams

Salesforce and monday CRM both let you shape the CRM around your own process, but they ask different things of you. Salesforce is the most configurable CRM there is, and building it usually takes an admin or a partner. monday CRM is built from boards, columns and statuses, and is the friendlier of the two to set up.

This comparison covers price, quotes and orders, meetings and AI, automation and integrations, and messaging and security. Every figure comes from the vendors' own pricing and product pages. Prices are per user a month, billed annually.

Pricing: $25 to $550 against $12 to $28

Salesforce Sales Cloud has five editions, from $25 to $550 a user a month. monday CRM has four plans, from $12 on Basic to $28, with Ultimate custom-priced. Both come with a free trial.

The gap widens once you price what a sales team uses. Say you want quotes and recorded meetings. On monday CRM, both come with Standard at $17 a seat. On Salesforce, quotes need Pro Suite at $100 and recording needs the $50 Sales Engagement add-on, so $150 a seat.

Quotes, price lists and orders

monday CRM handles quotes and invoices from its $12 Basic plan. Sales orders, samples and price lists aren't part of it, so teams build them as extra boards or keep them in spreadsheets.

Salesforce starts quotes, price lists and orders on Pro Suite at $100, so it covers more of the order side, at a much higher price. Neither tracks samples; on Salesforce, that means a custom object someone has to build.

Meetings, AI and Claude or ChatGPT

On Salesforce, call recording, meeting summaries and follow-up drafts live in Sales Engagement, an add-on at $50 a user a month. Filling CRM fields from calls starts at $195.

monday CRM puts its AI notetaker, follow-up drafts and CRM autofill on Standard at $17, so a Basic team writes up its own meetings. Both support MCP for connecting Claude or ChatGPT: monday CRM on every plan, Salesforce from $195.

Automation, API and email sync

Salesforce includes workflows and email sync in every edition, and AppExchange covers almost any integration. API access starts at $195.

On monday CRM, workflows, the API and email sync all begin on Standard at $17. Its strength is how easily a team reshapes its boards; Salesforce's is how far its custom objects and flows can stretch.

Messaging, LinkedIn and sign-on

WhatsApp is an add-on on Salesforce and isn't supported on monday CRM. Neither supports Telegram. LinkedIn capture takes a marketplace app on Salesforce and isn't offered on monday CRM.

Salesforce includes single sign-on. monday CRM keeps it for its Enterprise plan.

We make PromptLab, so here is why product teams pick it over both.
