Pricing: $9 to $139 against $23 to $99

Close has four plans: Solo at $9, Essentials at $35, Growth at $99, and a top plan at $139. Copper has three plans from $23 to $99. Both offer a free trial.

Close has the lower entry, but its pipelines start on Essentials at $35, while Copper includes them from $23. Copper's $23 plan stops at 2,500 contacts, though. Further up, Copper's workflows start at $59 against $99 on Close, and its $99 top plan is $40 below Close's.

Inside Gmail against a calling tool

Copper lives in Gmail and Calendar. It adds prospects from LinkedIn without switching tabs, syncs Drive and Contacts on every plan, and tracks projects next to deals. Gmail is the only inbox it syncs, so a rep on Outlook gets no email history in it.

Close concentrates on the sales conversation, with calling, email and SMS in one place. Its AI teammate, Chloe, summarises calls and updates records on every plan.

Calls, meetings and AI

Close records calls, summarises them and fills in CRM fields on every plan, and has a dialer built in. Copper has no call recording, no meeting summaries and no CRM autofill, and a dialer only through its marketplace.

Copper drafts follow-up emails from $59; Close has no follow-up drafts. Close supports MCP, so Claude or ChatGPT can connect; Copper doesn't.

Quotes and orders

Neither is built for quoting. In Copper, quotes come from a marketplace app such as PandaDoc, so the paperwork lives in a second tool. Close has no quotes at all, and a quote goes out from a spreadsheet the CRM never sees.

Neither has sales orders, price lists or sample tracking.

Messaging, LinkedIn and sign-on

WhatsApp works with Close and reaches Copper only through marketplace apps. Neither supports Telegram.

Copper has LinkedIn prospecting included; Close has no built-in way to save profiles. For sign-in, Close offers Google only, while Copper's single sign-on starts at $99.

We make PromptLab, so here is why product teams pick it over both.

Why PromptLab is the better choice for teams that sell products

PromptLab is a CRM for B2B teams that sell products. On their entry plans, neither Close nor Copper includes quotes, sales orders, sample tracking, price lists, AI follow-up drafts and workflow automation. PromptLab has all of them on every plan, from $11.99 a user a month.

  • A quote with line items next to a sample tube and a price tag

Quotes, samples and price lists in the CRM

We keep quotes, sample tracking, price lists and sales orders on the account and the deal, on every plan. When the buyer calls back, the quote and the sample are right there.

  • An AI meeting summary turning into a drafted follow-up email

The follow-up email, drafted for you

After each meeting, we write the summary and draft the follow-up email from what was said, ready to review. Before the next one, we prepare a brief on the account.
